ONS Gaming Chronicles: What is your favorite Mario Kart Track?
Jon: Airship Fortress from Mario Kart DS. Airship Fortress was the fourth and final track in the Star Cup in Mario Kart DS. This track is my favorite because it is based on levels from Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World. Though more so because of its connection to SMB3.
Tirc: Koopa Beach 1 from Super Mario Kart (SNES)
Koopa Beach 1 from the Star Cup on Super Mario Kart is my favorite Mario Kart Track as it is the one that I recall the most. Maybe due to always beating my younger brother (B.T.) on it. But probably more so due to the iconic music track that was paired with the race track, such nostalgia. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s a Koopa Beach, made for my favorite Mario Character and Mario Kart racer: Koopa Troopa.(Click to visit our post on Favorite Mario Characters)
B.T. : Yoshi Valley from Mario Kart 64.
I was going to try and argue Kalimari Desert but I couldn’t that would have been more outside influences than the track it self, although I still like that one. It was a hard choice on what was my favorite track. However I’m limited to only having played Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart Double Dash. As much as I like DK Mountain from Double Dash, my all time favorite (at least currently) is Yoshi Valley. It is the only track I have played on that allows you to decide how to deal with the race. Superior driving is what wins the day and not just using a blue shell and a lightning bolt/star. Though honestly I was always really good with using three green shells.
Honorable mention: this doesn’t fit the question really but my favorite battle arena happens to be block fort from the same game; Mario Kart 64.
Noodle: Rainbow Road from Mario Kart Wii.
Rainbow Road from the Wii game is my favorite simply because I am undefeated on that track. No one can defeat me, I kick everyone’s rear in this race. I also enjoy this track as my favorite because the redesign was really pretty and also it’s difficulty made it fun. I also enjoyed the music for this track as well. but seriously no one can beat me on this track.
