Crazy Taxi was Originally made for Sega Arcade machines in 1999 and would be ported a year later to the Sega Dreamcast. It’s popularity would see it ported to Sega’s competitors consoles, as well as the PC. While I’m playing the PC port, I remember the Dreamcast port fondly. Having never owned a Dreamcast I can admit I missed out, fortunately though I did get opportunities to play ti over friends houses and Crazy Taxi was just one of those fun games.
Despite it being a race against time of which normally I hate, it’s a really fun game. The controls aren’t bad in the PC port, but they are way better in the Dreamcast port. Handling however is kind of slippery, I’m not sure if the Dreamcast version was like this but really it just could be the controller I was using and not getting a good sense of feedback to properly judge. Seriously I slide all over the place or stop before being in the field.
Regardless, this game is well like I stated before fun and ultimately that’s what I look for in entertainment, is it fun is it worth the money I put in? And people who state otherwise just don’t understand entertainments main purpose. Don’t get me wrong games can and have every right to be deep and thought provoking but they also have every right to be the complete opposite.
Anyways Memorial Day is tomorrow and I hope you all have a great one, as for those who don’t celibate it I hope your weekend was wonderful!
