Hello everyone For this event and for BLS we are going to do something different! This article is going to be mostly in the video because there’s not too much I want to add here from the Bottom Line entry for his game. Mario Bros was interestingly enough an arcade game which is denoted from the BL design for this cart as it denotes it as an Arcade title. Originally this game came out in 1983 commercially as an arcade cabinet for both Japan and the US. Which makes this game a port of an arcade game (not the first or the last for this series btw).
The game would be released in 1986 for North America in the ported version of course for the NES!
However this game hasn’t just been released for the Famicom or the NES, but also as a secondary title on the Super Mario Advanced series on the Game boy it also saw a run as a Game & Watch game, and as a game within the Animal Crossing game for the GameCube. It also saw releases on competitor systems such as the Atari 26000, Atari 5200, and the Atari 7800 pretty cool! What’s even cooler than those releases was the fact this game was released for the Atari 8-bit, the Commodore 64, the Amstrad CPC, the ZX Spectrum, and the Apple II series of computers… In other words If Nintendo did this today for a Mario game put on the Wii they would release the game on the DS, Nintendo NX, as well as on Microsoft’s Xbox, Xbox 360, the Xbox One, PC, Linux, and Mac… as well as an App Store for I Phones and/or Droids.
